What is Mindful

Self-Pleasure?

Mindful self-pleasure is the practice of connecting with your body and your experience of pleasure as a way of cultivating presence, relaxation, and nervous-system regulation. It’s the practice of connecting with your own sensation of pleasure to notice what feels good to you and your body, from an intention of softening shame, anxiety, tension, discomfort, and the other things we may be carrying in our bodies. In my practice, mindful self-pleasure has three core components: - Sensual self-touch - Medibation - Mindful masturbation These practices can be explored sequentially, moving from the least erotic to the most erotic. They aren’t three levels of achievement, and one isn’t necessarily “better” or more advanced than another. They are three different practices, each with a different point of emphasis, that give you different ways to connect with yourself through pleasure.
